The patch ran for 42 days and ended on November 26, 2025, introducing two new S-Rank Agents, Lucia and Yidhari, plus the A-Rank Agent Komano Manato, new W-Engines, the Season 2 Chapter 4 main story, and a dense calendar of limited events. Proxies who reached Inter-Knot Level 4 before the update could claim a total of 600 Polychrome in compensation: 300 for server maintenance and 300 for issue fixes. The server compensation mail expired after 30 days, while issue-fix compensation had to be claimed by November 14, 2025.

Platform Update Methods

Players could download the patch through platform-specific steps. On PC, they needed to exit, restart the client, and select update. Android users followed in-game pop-up instructions, while iOS users updated from the App Store. On PS5 or PS5 Pro, players opened the home screen, highlighted Zenless Zone Zero, held the Options button, and checked for updates. Xbox Series X|S players navigated through My games & apps, Manage, and the Updates page.

New Agents and Combat Roles

Version 2.3 expanded the roster with three agents tied to the update’s dream-themed story.

Story, Agent Content, and Outfits

Season 2 Chapter 4 'Memories of Dreams Bygone' became permanently available after the update. Proxies needed to complete Season 2 Chapter 3 'Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night' or use Advance Screening after unlocking Notorious Hunt. Lucia's Agent Story 'Tales of the Dreamless' was also added permanently, requiring completion of the new main story chapter. New Agent Trust Events and Quality Time Events for Lucia, Yidhari, and Komano Manato were unlocked by obtaining the corresponding Agents and completing required stories.

The patch included two notable outfits. Vivian - Iris of the Shore could be earned by spending a specified number of Encrypted Master Tapes across all limited-time channels in Version 2.3 and Version 2.4. HoYoverse confirmed it was event-exclusive for at least 180 days after Version 2.4 ended before returning through the Store. Komano Manato - White Heart Silhouette was available for a limited time by completing the main story chapter 'Memories of Dreams Bygone'. The Signal Search Thank-You Gift also rewarded Proxy accessories such as Wise - Leisurely Summer, Belle - Rippling Cerulean, Wise - Azure Spiral, and Belle - Seapearl Waves.

Limited Events and Reward Timelines

The patch's event schedule offered Polychrome, Encrypted Master Tapes, Boopon, and upgrade materials.

Combat, Exploration, and System Additions

The patch deepened endgame and exploration systems. Soldier 0 - Anby received the Silver Blade Unleashed enhancement, adding new skills, combo optimizations, and a Core Passive upgrade. The Threshold Simulation: Branching Echoes mode became available for Inter-Knot Level 55 Proxies. A new exploration area, Timesworn Hills, arrived alongside ambient events and new enemies including Wandering Hunter, Haytor, Miasmic - Frenzied Maniac, Miasmic - Trinox, Miasmic Trooper - Shieldguard, and Miasmic Trooper - Cannoneer. The Wandering Hunter challenge in Notorious Hunt dropped the Core Skill item Crimson Miasma Spike.

Shiyu Defense Critical Node and Deadly Assault both received new badge functions and Outpost Archives. Critical Node buffs in Phase I increased Max HP, Ether DMG, and Electric DMG, while Support Agents could raise squad Sheer DMG and ATK with EX Special Attacks. Phase II boosted Ice and Ether DMG and granted CRIT DMG and Sheer DMG bonuses in the Ether Veil state. Phase III enhanced Stun Daze, Sheer DMG, and CRIT DMG against Stunned enemies. Deadly Assault featured Miasma Priest, The Defiler, Notorious - Dead End Butcher, Wandering Hunter, Miasmic Fiend - Unfathomable, and Autonomous Assault Unit - Typhon Destroyer across three phases.

Additional content included dynamic wallpapers for Lucia, Yidhari, and Komano Manato; new achievements, titles, avatars, namecards, and badge sets; a camera frame function; an Event Calendar; W-Engine animation previews; PS5 trophy set 'ZZZ - Memories of Dreams Bygone'; and new Xbox achievements. Investigation Progress cap rose from 180 to 200 with new Task Force Missions.

Optimizations and Fixes

Version 2.3 also delivered a wide range of quality-of-life and bug fixes. Drive Disc upgrade filtering and sub-stat recommendations were improved, red dot logic was optimized, backup Ether Battery consumption was adjusted, and the in-game time system advanced automatically with each real-world day. Other fixes addressed Agent Yuzuha's Flavor Match triggers, Vivian's umbrella animation, camera anomalies after certain Chain Attacks, Anton's Assist Follow-Up, Corin's Exclusive Gear in Hollow Zero, and effect timing for 'when stunning an enemy' abilities. Text description errors for Seed's Mindscape Cinema and the Deadly Assault 'Clarity' buff were corrected without altering actual effects.
